twas late in the watch and all was quiet
only me and the gulls in the night.
when I caught a sail out on the horizon
and brought my glass to eye.

when the focus came foree my blood ran cold
a dark chill ran down my spine
sails and hull black as night.
I knew we had run out of time.

twas the black ship that sailed the main
taking our lives and gold
come by night in the witching hour
capturing ships and souls
Death walking the decks with firey eyes
making cowards of brave and bold.
run if you can fight if must pray which 'er
you're told

the ship came on as I rang the bell
calling the crew to quarters
load the guns grab the blades
make sure you soul's in order.
the captain came forward i gave back the deck his eye were hard and cold
he turned to the crew began shouting orders
we would run for our very souls

we ran like the wind but the dead ran us down
so when forced we turned to fight
the cannons roared was the only sound.
the only light in the night.
then the ropes n hooks flew across the gap
and the deadmen pulled us tight
I drew my blade prepared to die
prayed my soul would still see the light.

blade to blade,pike and pin we fought till the last man fell
taken aboard after being run thru to look in the face of hell
taking orders from a new captain, still standing the watch on the sea
My eyes look out from the land of the dead sailing the winds of eternity.
